POLLY PEN
Ms. Pen is a 1996 Obie Award winner for thc score of BED AND SOFA which received seven Drama Desk nominations and has been recorded by Varese Sarabande. Her first Off-Broadway production as both composer and co-author, GOBLIN MARKET, received five Drama Desk nominations and the BEST PLAYS Special Citation for Musical Composition and Adaptation. It has been performed throughout the United States and most recently in Kyoto, Japan. Other works include HER LIGHTNESS for Sarasota Opera; THE DUMB CAKE, a radio musical broadcast over NPR and CHRISTINA ALBERTA'S FATHER for the Vineyard Theatre where it received a Richard Rodgers Award, an Obie and a drama desk nomination for Outstanding Music. Polly is the 1998 recipient of The Gilman & Gonzalez-Falla Award and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. She is a recent recipient of the TCG/Pew Grant, serving as a National Theatre Artist-in-Residence at the McCarter Theatre. Polly serves on the board of Dramatists Play Service, the council of The Drarnatists Guild and on the nominating committee of the Tony Awards. She is very proud to be a teacher at NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. Polly's most recent work, NIGHT GOVERNESS will premiere at the McCarter Theatre this spring.

RON KAEHLER
Mr. Kaehler started his career as an actor and singer, first in his native Chicago and later in New York, where his credits ranged from Off-Broadway musicals to opera at Lincoln Center. He began writing in the early '90s, and since then his songs and specialty material (often in collaboration with Albert Evans) have been sung in concert, cabaret, and recording studio by such performers as Bryan Batt, Charles Cermele, David Garrison, Alix Korey, Eddie Korbich, Marin Mazzie, and Jessica Molasky, among many others. Recordings that feature his work include the "Best of Celebration of Life 1-5" and the Turtle Creek Chorale's holiday CD, "Twisted Turtle Tinsel." Other works for the stage include the musical farce UNDER THE OVERTURE and the play STAGE FRIGHT. Television credits include a stint as executive story editor and writer for the children's series Van-Pires, which enjoyed a healthy run in domestic and international syndication, and was awarded a Certificate for Excellence in Writing by the 31st Annual Film & Video Festival. Current projects include a musical screenplay called ONCE IN A BLUE MOON, written with songwriters Anne Bryant and Ellen Bernfeld. Ron is a member of the Dramatists Guild and ASCAP.

ALBERT EVANS
Mr. Evans wrote the music for the Off-Broadway hit Pageant which, in addition to its many U.S. productions, has been performed in Australia and Japan, and has recently been published by Samuel French. His lyrics are featured in New York City Opera's new performing version of THE MERRY WIDOW, televised on "Live from Lincoln Center" (PBS). He co-authored the score for the Off-Broadway cult hit, NITE CLUB CONFIDENTIAL, which has been enjoyed by audiences in New York, Los Angeles, London, Boston and a score of other cities. Mr. Evans is Composer-in-Residence at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse, where he has written lyrics for MIKADO INC., and music for GREAT EXPECTATIONS, A TALE OF TWO CITIES, JANE EYRE and WUTHERING HEIGHTS. His other scores include THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MUSICAL, FIVE ON THE ISLE, and NOTHING TO LOSE. As a keyboard player, he has performed around the nation with country music legend Eddy Arnold. He has drawn on that experience and a lifelong love of country music to create the score for A COUNTRY CHRISTMAS CAROL.

JON MARANS
His play OLD WICKED SONGS (1996 Pulitzer Prize Finalist for Drama), was first presented at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, then in New York by Daryl Roth and the Barrow Group at Playhouse 91, subsequently moving to the Promenade Theater. In England, it began at the Bristol Old Vic, then moved to London's West End at the Gielgud Theater, starring Bob Hoskins OLD WICKED SONGS has been produced in over a dozen countries around the world and is included in Otis Guersey's "Best Plays of 1996-97." His most recent show, LEGACY OF THE DRAGONSLAYERS (book Jon Marans, lyrics Ronnie Gilbert, music Henry Mollicone, based on Studs Terkel's book "Coming of Age") premiered at the San Jose Repertory Theater. In film, Mr. Marans was a story editor/script doctor for STONEBRIDGE, Michael Douglas' production company. A graduate of Duke University in mathematics and music, Mr. Marans also studied at Lehman Engel's BMI Musical Theater Workshop and has written lyrics for many composers including Charles Strouse, Edward Thomas, Dan Levine and Galt MacDermot.

EDWARD THOMAS
In collaboration with Librettist, Joe Masteroff, Mr. Thomas has written the music for SIX WIVES based on the life and loves of Henry VIII, produced by the York Theatre in 1992, and DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS, a folk opera based on the play by Eugene O'Neill, produced at the New York City Center in 1989. Mr. Thomas wrote the score of BALLAD FOR A FIRING SQUAD, a musical play about Mata Hari with lyrics by Martin Charnin and book by Jerome Coopersmith, produced at the Theatre de Lys and subsequently revived at the York Theater.
